Merry Christmas Eve to all of my fellow bloggers! I wish you peace, health and happiness.
From the moment he strode through the iron gate and into the offices of Two Love Lane on a crisp December day, it was obvious that Deacon Banks was something different. He wasn’t a Charleston native, not with that adorable Yankee accent. And unlike the usual client at the elegant matchmaking agency, he had no interest in finding a woman to marry–just a few no-strings dates while he was in town.
Macy Frost takes her professional services very seriously–how could she not, when she’s rumored to be a direct descendant of Cupid? Tech entrepreneur Deacon says he’s just trying to make his social-climbing aunt happy by being seen out and about with a few prominent beauties, but Macy insists she can make her client fall in love…for real. And Deacon can’t help but think she might be right. As charming as the palmetto trees and magnificent harbor may be, it’s the beautiful, breath-of-fresh-air Macy who’s become Deacon’s favorite part of the scenery. But can the hopelessly romantic Southern belle stop trying to fix him up and just let Cupid do his work on her own heart?
First I would like to say this is a gorgeous cover! And although I never read Romance books, I thought of this more as a Christmas book. I even lit a pine candle to get in the mood.
Macy and her friends, Greer, Ella and Miss Thing, are running a successful matchmaking service in Charleston.
Deacon Banks has followed his famous Aunt Fran to Charleston for a month and has promised her he will at least date some potential love interests while he is there, but he falls hard for Macy the moment he sees her.
How could you not fall in love in Charleston at Christmas time? Well, Macy is trying awfully hard not to do that.
The descriptions of Charleston were wonderful as was the food and traditions. Even I was not immune to the charm of Macy and her lovable cast mates!
A holiday book I would highly recommend! And there’s Coconut Cake Y’all!

Happy Sunday! Here it is going to be a hot one again. I am reading Christmas books today and just couldn’t get into it. So I lit a Pine candle and now the house smells like a Christmas Tree and the reading is rolling along just fine.
Today is also my little munchkin Corbins fifth birthday! So this afternoon and into the night we will be celebrating him out at GiGi’s house in the country. With all the cousins and Aunts and Uncles. And of course, Spiderman! This little boy brings me more joy than I ever thought possible. He has the most incredible imagination and you are likely to find us wearing capes and running in the yard being superheroes or having chocolate milk mocktinis at tea time.
Like me, he is a solitary soul. He is totally happy playing by himself and making up stories about fairies or super heroes.
Happy Birthday my darling boy. I love you to the moon and back!

Abandoned by his mother when he was young, twenty-two-year-old Rave Wayne knows all about loss. That doesn’t mean he’s used to it. After he’s dumped by the girlfriend he assumed he’d spend his life with, Rave is longing more than ever to connect.
Then, as if by miracle, he receives an invitation from his grandfather, a man he thought was long gone, to come for a visit in rural Tennessee. Loyal, honest, and loving, dear old Tuck is everything Rave could have hoped for. He’s family. Soon, Rave finds himself falling for a down-to-earth local girl, and he thinks his life is finally coming together.
But the past isn’t through with Rave. When his mother returns after many long years, looking to reconcile the terrible mistakes that once defined her, Rave struggles to put together the unsettled pieces of his heart. Will this once-estranged family be able to come together to understand the meaning of unconditional love, the fragile bonds of family, and the healing power of letting go?
This is a beautiful book. So well written it involves every emotion you can think of!
None of these characters are perfect. They are all flawed in some way exactly like most families. A story of love, hope, courage and forgiveness. It shows us that what we believe isn’t always the truth. The truth is always more complicated.
Doing the right thing is sometimes the hardest thing to do. But it usually turns out to be the best thing.
Heather Burch is a storyteller of the best kind. From the first page to the last you cry, laugh, mourn and feel every emotion her characters feel. I don’t know how she does it but I’m awfully glad she does!
This book will be released on September 12, 2017 by Lake Union Publishing. Netgalley
Today has the potential to be very ugly. All over the United States. People aren’t feeling very united. So today I’m putting all of my energy into just loving people. It’s hard for people to be ugly to you when you are actively loving them.
For those of us with Anxiety issues this unrest can’t stop fast enough. I can’t control anyone else’s beliefs or actions. I can however refuse to engage in harming myself or others. So I don’t care who you are, know that today someone loves you. And wishes the best for you. You don’t have to follow the crowd, be you and speak the truth.
Have a wonderful Saturday and tell someone you love them today. Maybe not the post man though because he looked at me oddly when I said it.

7 years ago this beautiful little girl came into our lives. And oh how happy we are that she did! She is the spitting image of her daddy in looks and sass!
She has an imagination that won’t quit! And I never want her to lose that. She has the best ideas and is awed by all things sparkly and girly! She also has no qualms about getting dirty if she has to.
We make up the best stories and she is an amazing crafter already and has a voice like an angel. As in this girl has talent!! But then she comes from a long line of musicians. She makes me laugh so hard and she is so certain of everything, rather like a walking encyclopedia!
I never imagined I could love someone so much, but Miss Charli Ava, you have captured my heart and you will forever be my girl.
You know how much it costs to be kind? Zip, Zero, Nada, Not a Cent! Lately I’ve been reading about bloggers being harassed by indie authors. Not Kind. Some advice? Do. Not. Engage. With. Trolls. Ever. I do not. I am busy, I don’t have time to re-live junior high.
It is possible to just read something and move on. I don’t eat meat, but I follow a lot of bloggers that do. Why? Because they have great ideas and I love creative people.
So let’s try a little harder to be grown ups and be kind to one another, if you must respond to some snarky teenager, a Thank you for your opinion, Bless your heart! is the Southern girls F*** you. It’s a secret, so don’t go blabbing it all over the blogosphere.
I’m heading to the lake to read and take a nap!

Here it is the weekend already! Do you know how hard it is to really love yourself? Is it because only you really know those deep, hidden corners where all the ugly stuff hides?
Trust me, whatever it is that is keeping you from loving yourself, someone has done worse. Much worse. So, close your eyes and open those mental doors and windows and air that crap out. Shoo! Out the door! Be Gone! Brush it right out and slam the door shut!
Loving yourself doesn’t make you selfish or self-absorbed. There is always, always something inside every one of us that is worth love. Look in that mirror and say I Love You…yes You..with all of your faults, scars, and imperfections. When you love yourself, loving others becomes so much easier. It’s a choice. Everyday. Every morning I take off my little plastic eye cup and look right in that eye and say ” Good Morning, Oh my gosh you are so beautiful! We are going to do such great things together!” ” You are strong, you are fierce, you are brave.”
And if you need some help let me know and I’ll tell you all the lovely things about your!
xx Much love Patricia

LYRICS
L’amour de moi, s’y est enclose
Dedans un jolie jardinet
Ou croit la rose et le muguet
Y aussi fail le passerose
Ce jardin est belle et plaisant
Il est garni de toutes fleurs
On y prend son ebattement
Autant la nuit comme le jour
Helas il n’est si dous chose
Que de ce doux rossignolet
Qui chant au soir et au matinet
Quand il est las il se repose
Ce jardin est belle et plaisant
Il est garni de toutes fleurs
On y prend son ebattement
Autant la nuit comme le jour
TRANSLATION:
My love is enclosed
In a lovely garden
Where the roses grow, and the lilies-of-the-valley
And the passerose
The garden is beautiful and pleasant
And garnished with every flower
We go there for our pleasure
In the day, but mostly in the night
Alas, there is nothing more sweet
Than the nightingale
Who sings in the evening and again in the morning
When he is there he brings us repose
The garden is beautiful and pleasant
And garnished with every flower
We go there for our pleasure
In the day, but mostly in the night
