Ancestry Detective Mystery 2
Welcome to the second book in this series about Texas genealogist Lucy Lancaster.
Lucy is crazy busy trying to wrap up a project for Pippa Sutton of Sutton Hotel fame. After months of work, she is ready to present her results to Pippa and the rest of the Sutton family. And it’s just a week before New Year’s Eve.
After a day of research, she comes back to the hotel but before she reaches the steps a man stumbles towards her and shoves something in her hands before dropping dead. Whispering a cryptic message to “keep them safe”.
Looking at her hand she sees it is a Mont Blanc pen and while her grandfather is a collector Lucy doesn’t understand what the man meant, so she calls in grandpa and all of a sudden Lucy is wondering what in the world she has gotten herself into!
After speaking with him, things get very interesting! And Lucy isn’t sure who her grandpa is anymore, but boy is he interesting!
A really good mystery here. Spies, murder, an old vendetta based on a lie. It’s all here! Enjoy!

A delightful new mystery featuring bookseller and amateur sleuth Delaney Nichols, set in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Delaney Nichols, originally of Kansas but settling happily into her new life as a bookseller in Edinburgh, works at The Cracked Spine in the heart of town. She’s recently befriended a few medical school students after they came into the shop to sell some antique medical tomes. But when one of the students’ friends is found murdered outside in the alley, Delaney takes it upon herself to help bring the murderer to justice.
During her investigation, Delaney finds some old scalpels in the bookshop’s warehouse—she finds out that they belonged to a long-dead doctor, whose story might be connected to the present-day murder. It’s all Delaney can do to race to solve this crime before time runs out and she ends up in danger herself.
This is such a delightful series! This is the third I believe in the series with the lovely Delaney from Kansas. Working in The Cracked Spine bookshop selling rare and old books with a secret room with even more hidden treasure! It’s a book lover’s dream!
When a young lady she had met the night before is found murdered outside of the bookshop, Delaney’s curious mind simply has to be involved!
This Cozy Mystery Series is full of history, intrigue and suspense and really lovely characters! The Scottish Bookshop Series is definitely in my top 5!

This is the 5th book in this series.
When Alex Duggins comes across a terrifying scene at the site of a new housing development, once again she is drawn into a case of brutal murder.
A new year arrives and winter holds Britain’s Cotswold Hills in its icy grip once more. But it’s the construction of a new housing development that’s causing the residents of Folly-on-Weir most concern. As she passes the site late one afternoon, pub owner Alex Duggins is confronted by the terrifying scene of a construction trailer on fire and a man desperately trying to break the door down.
Her efforts to help – and the subsequent findings of the police forensic pathologist – draw Alex and her friend Tony Harrison into a major murder investigation whose tentacles will reach right to the heart of the tight-knit Folly community – and into Alex’s own past …
Alex and her mother Lily have a close relationship, but there have always been things her mother just won’t talk about. While she knows a little of the past, her mother and the people who knew her when Alex was a baby aren’t talking about it either.
After all the chatter around the pub about the new development, Alex takes a drive to see for herself. After almost getting run off the road on the way, she is definitely not expecting to find a fire and someone injured!
From there the oddest characters seem to be coming out of the woodwork! Everyone is acting odd and Alex is determined to find out why and who is frightening her mother?
I really enjoy Brit Lit. And I like this series. And there is a shocker of an ending! Eagerly awaiting the next one!

Las Vegas knows how to party, and for once, event planner Liv McKay won’t be entirely behind the scenes. The Dixie gang is in Sin City to celebrate Mama and Earl’s rockin’ Elvis-themed wedding. And between juggling the botched bachelorette party and a problem-plagued soirée back home, Liv’s ready to double down on some fun.
Mama & Earl’s happily-ever-after seems like a sure thing, but all bets (and nuptials) are off when they get to the Burning Love Wedding Chapel. Their Elvis-impersonating minister has left the building . . . permanently. And even worse, Liv’s cousin, Little Junior, is suspected of his murder.
With Mama’s happy ending on the table and Little Junior about to lose it all, the stakes are higher than ever. Liv and her best friend, Di, must hit the Strip to find the real killer before he finally plays his ace…
The Dixie Gang is back and in Las Vegas for Liv’s Momma and her hunk Earl to get hitched at an Elvis themed venue.
Liv is ready to kick back but it looks as if this will be a working trip as well. When cousin Jr., who lives in Vegas becomes a suspect in the untimely death of the Elvis Minister, who not only left the building but also the land of the living!
And let’s not leave on Di whose ex-hubby also shows up in Vegas. Before they can enjoy the Vegas wedding experience, they now must prove Junior is innocent. And how do you do that when half the town is dressed like Elvis?
Another good read in this series. Solid, with smart characters and good down home fun!

Leaving behind a failed career as a magazine editor and an embarrassing stint on a reality baking show, newly divorced lifestyle entrepreneur Hope Early thought things were finally on the upswing—until she comes face-to-face with a murderer . . .
Hope’s schedule is already jam-packed with recipe testing and shameless plugs for her food blog as she rushes off to attend a spring garden tour in the charming town of Jefferson, Connecticut. Unfortunately, it isn’t the perfectly arranged potted plants that grab her attention—it’s the bloody body of reviled real estate agent Peaches McCoy . . .
One of the tour guests committed murder, and all eyes are on Hope’s older sister, Claire Dixon—who, at best, saw Peaches as a professional rival. And suspicions really heat up when another murder occurs the following night. Now, with two messy murders shaking Jefferson and all evidence pointing to Claire, Hope must set aside her burgeoning brand to prove her sister’s innocence. But the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she gets to a killer intent on making sure her life goes permanently out of style . . .
Includes Recipes from Hope’s Kitchen!
I really loved this one! Hope at Home, her blog is full of recipes, DIY, and lifestyle information. She is making a new life for herself, buying an old farmhouse and raising chickens while she fixes up her old house. Having left the big city and reality television behind. Living here in quite Jefferson is just what she needs. But this little town isn’t as quiet and sleepy at all! Killers are on the loose and all signs point to her sister when a rival real estate agent is found dead in the study with her head bashed in with a rock.
When another murder takes place Hope is going to have to put on her Nancy Drew hat and notebook and get busy. She was after all the best crime solver in her school’s mystery club, so obviously she should be able to figure this one out. But will it be in time?
I have found myself a new cozy author at Kensington!
