A Sunday Visit from the Anxiety Fairy!

Good Morning, Sunday! While it was pretty frigid this morning, it’s warmed up nicely and the sun is shining.

This has been the strangest few weeks. We’ve had temperatures in the 90’s followed by a light freeze, back to the ’80s and then freezing rain. Even Mother Nature has lost her footing!

The thing that bothers me the most about this Quarantine thing is I never know what day it is. Everyone is home so it’s a bit confusing. By everyone I mean OU Boy. He’s been home 5 days now. It was on Day 4 that I sent him and all of his belongings to the hotel. I thought I wanted a divorce. Turns out I just didn’t want to hear him breathe while I tried to finish a book. By bedtime, he was home and this morning had to do the walk of shame at work to go get his meds! The bad news is he brought germs home. We both now have a fever, chills, aches and awful coughs. We just thought we were cured. Now we can’t taste anything or smell anything. I made some lunch and he said, It’s warm. We will find out tomorrow if we are dying or not. It feels like it. But then I whine a lot.

The word Compassion was on my mind this morning. People are getting downright mean! Our parks are closed and still, people are over there getting germs all over the equipment. Old ladies are yelling at people walking the track. Stop following me!!! Um, ma’am, it’s a circle. I’m trying very hard to be compassionate, I am, really. But I’ve discovered that when I’m sick, I’m rather testy myself. I’ve washed my hands with so much alcohol and soap that when I pee, I clean the toilet.

We’re going to take a nap now. Be Safe. Wash your hands. Don’t be a dick.

  1. Hah! I laughed out loud when I read, “…when I pee, I clean the toilet.” And I did a double-take and laughed again when you wrote, “Wash your hands. Don’t be a dick.” That’s exactly what I’d expect to hear from that “can’t take the farm outta the farmer” husband of mine! LOL! ❤

  2. Hope you aren’t “seriously sick.” It’s strange times indeed and I’m surprised the anxiety fairy didn’t arrive with luggage for an extended stay. I can’t read headlines or I get instant diarrhea!

  3. I hope you are okay Patty. All our parks, tracks, schoolgrounds etc. are closed, fences around them. I went for a walk last night (It was beautiful) and only saw 6 other people and we stayed well away from each other, more than 6 feet. Prayers for a negative test and just a bad cold.

  4. Our beautiful park is still open although all the playground equipment is behind caution tape…I just came in from an hour long dance through the park trying to keep 6 feet apart from folks throwing caution to the wind because, you know, the sun is out!
I hope you and yours are OK…

    1. The teens pulled the tape down. And apparantly they aren’t cutting the grass anymore there so I’m not confident walking where there may be dog poo. lol

  5. I hope you get better fast, and that it’s just regular cooties and not coronacooties

    1. It is not regular cooties. It is positive. With a dozen stitches in my eye that just had an infection, asthma and Crohn’s I am high risk. Lucky for me my eye surgeon got me in the private hospital. And I am allergic to the Z pack. Yippee.

  8. I get a fever about every 3 days. Then wake up normal. I am almost 70 and find it so scary. I just have to perk up as son is so scared to lose me. He has very few relatives and I am determined he won’t lose his mum and dad. Stay safe and well everyone.
