All-Time Favorite Sheet Cakes  Slab Pies: Easy to Make, Easy to Serve

Who isn’t a fan of sheet cakes? Simple to make and serve and everyone gets a good ratio of cake and frosting. I myself make a mean Rum Cake Sheetcake. As I was looking in my library I saw this and quickly grabbed it. Slab pies? What is this?

Well it’s genius! Instead of having to make 3 pies for Thanksgiving, I made one slab pie and it was a huge hit. I doubt if I will ever make pie any other way after discovering these scrumptious recipes!

Bacon-Peanut Butter Cake with Maple Buttercream. Imagine those flavors! And there is more! 100 recipes of sheetcake, slab pies, cheesecakes, coffee cakes and even gluten-free goodies!  The Blueberry Buckle that I made with wild Maine blueberries was to die for! Warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, heaven on a plate.

This is one I will definitely be buying for myself!

    1. Oh my goodness, I had the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory Monday night. It was food porn at its best!

      1. Oh yeah, it’s so decadent, isn’t it? I try to never buy a whole cheesecake from there, or it’s food debauchery at its finest when I get home.

      2. Oh lord no, not a whole one. My aunt took two slices home with her. She said they were for two teachers she works with but I’m thinking she ate them both later.

  2. I have never heard of a Slab Pie, now I am intrigued!!

    1. I heard of them only because my little Granny did a lot of church dinners and she made them. It’s a great alternative to pie when you have a crowd.

    1. Baked in a 13 x 9 pan. Same as a pie just in a rectangle pan.
