Monday Thoughts…Gratitude

At work today we are doing an experiment on saying Thank You. To each other, to the universe, to any and everyone we meet today. Make eye contact and say Thank you and smile. Whether it’s to the copy boy , the coffee barista, or  to all of you people in the Blog World who keep me informed, entertained, thinking and debating, expanding my world and view of said world from your points of view.

Thank You!

  1. Howdy Patricia!

One of the most meaningful experiences I ever had came during a journal writing course I took back in the ’80’s. One exercise was to think of all the people who helped you in big and small ways that week, and write a short thank you in your journal. It was one of our first exercises. Then one of the last was to go back through your journal and write a you’re welcome in the margins whenever you helped someone else. It was an amazing experience to realize how much we do actually help each other in both big ways and small throughout our day. It is something that I think of often.

Thank you for reminding me of it once again.

  2. I love this post! It is thought provoking and a good principle to adopt. It does remind me of my own post written a couple of months ago: ‘Thank you’. I hope I subliminally inspired this or would that be too much to hope for Patricia? :))

      1. The feeling is mutual! I am sorry I have not been here recently, but now that I’m here, I am tempted to read everything!!!! :)) I love what you say about loving books (not on this post, another one. I should probably have left my comment there:)). I feel the same way too. Books have been my safe haven, my raft, my escape – do you see where I’m going with this?:))
