Dark Echo by F.G.Cottam

After reading The House of Lost Souls by Mr. Cottam, I was eager for more. This book had everything. I felt like a child sitting around a campfire listening intently to a delicious ghost story for grown ups. The detail the author puts in his books is what I love the most. He paints a picture so vivid that when you put the book down, it takes a while to come “out” of the story. Martin, his father Magnus, and his girlfriend, Suzanne are all intriguing characters in their own right. There is always one sentence in his books that stops me and this time it was ” But then we never really know another person, do we?” The mix of supernatural and history, a secret society, a failed attempt at the Priesthood, and an Irish legend and a doggedly determined girlfriend make for a superb tale. This is an exceptionally well written book and I look forward to the next one.
